This is a page of tips,
recommendations, or suggestions regarding the use of the Ryobi BT3100 tablesaw.
- ALWAYS work safely. If some particular method seems less than
safe, find another way to perform the operation.
- Learn how to align the machine properly. Any machine that is not properly aligned
will not perform very well.
- To keep it in good working order, perform the periodic maintenance
listed in the owners manual.
- Sand and then wax or otherwise treat the table surfaces to prevent
marking the stock.
- Ensure the saw is plugged into a good electrical circuit and do
not starve it by using a thin gauge extension cord. It would be best not to use an
extension cord at all if possible.
- Wax the front rip fence rail and SMT guide for smother movement.
- Use a quality thin kerf blade to reduce the load on the motor and
lessen the likelihood of a stall (and potential drive belt failure). You can use
smaller diameter blades (eg: 7.25") with good results, this further decreases motor
load.
- Replace the throat plate with a zero clearance type. This will
make the machine safer to operate and reduce the frequency of clogs in the DC port.
- Learn how to align the machine properly. Any machine that is not properly aligned
will not perform very well - did I say this already?
